Front End Developer/Web Master


We are looking for a strong Front End Developer/ Web Master to become a key member of the Marketing team.  You will be responsible for taking creative concepts as well as specific content needs and executing the necessary website solutions.  Although this is more of a production than a design role, a strong visual eye and thorough understanding of how typography, layout, and color impact design is also necessary. 

 

Your primary focus will be maintaining, updating, and enhancing the front-end of Oversee.net, DomainSponsor.com and DOMAINfest.com as well as specific marketing oriented pages of Moniker.com and SnapNames.com.  You will utilize existing custom-built content management systems and develop new CMS solutions when needed.

 

You will be working with a variety of internal colleagues and departments outside of the marketing group.  Creative thinking, attention to detail, keen problem solving skills and a strong knowledge of modern web design are essential.  We are looking for someone who likes to work hard and to have fun while doing it.  We offer great perks and a work environment that encourages innovation and career growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, maintain, and integrate the markup, CSS, and Javascript for the front end of most Company websites, based on specifications and designs from the Marketing and Creative teams
  • Create and maintain internal tools including content management solutions
  • Work with existing systems to improve upon usability issues
  • Contribute to architecture that would integrate presentation layer with elegant back-end solutions for high volume websites
  • Provide technical assistance in ad-hoc marketing projects as needed.  This could include HTML email campaign support, merchant account implementation, ad-tagging, etc.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years writing semantic markup (HTML/XHTML/XML)
  • 2 to 4 years writing standards-based CSS
  • 2 to 4 years of PHP or other server-side scripting language
  • 2 to 4 years of DOM and AJAX (JSON) scripting using Javascript
  • 1+ year experience with Perl
  • Java experience a plus
  • Extensive server-side integration experience
  • Knowledge of related applications, such as graphics tools, CMS, network applications, etc
  • Experience with optimization techniques, cross-browser/platform issues and HTML templating systems (such as Smarty, Template::Toolkit and JSP)
  • Strong attention to detail, good work ethic, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and good communication skills
  • Any agency experience or experience working within a marketing department is a plus
  • Familiarity working with visual design applications like Adobe CS production suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) a plus
  • BA or BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
