Software Developer

The Marketing Services team is looking for a Software Developer/Web Application Developer with exceptional experience web application development.  This candidate will work on its consumer-facing lead generation sites, Low.com, LowFares.com and participate in the development of new lead generation sites.
 
Responsibilities:

• Be a key contributor in the development of a high traffic web product that maximizes both business and technical needs
• Engineer and implement new product features for Perl applications, both web-based and those that do offline processing, using test-driven methodologies
• Work closely with a cross functional team, including a strong front-end developer, to rapidly build and iterate a top performing website
• Optimize and enhance web applications with millions of page requests, high volume data logging and processing needs, and high performance requirements
• Write code in a test-driven manner
• Write thorough, comprehensive technical and high-level documentation

Requirements:

• Detailed knowledge of high traffic, fault tolerant, 24x7 websites
• 2+ years of experience in Perl or another dynamic scripting language such as PHP, Ruby or Python with a willingness to work in Perl
• Experience with developing web services applications
• Basic SQL, XML, and Apache knowledge
